I always pick cars with little to no aftermarket support
I can’t even find a replacement grille or bumper
I can, however, find all manner of 20" (and larger) wheels

“no aftermarket support” the first thing I think of when I hear that is the Lincoln LS/Ford Thunderbird. Why no 4.6!

Being different and unique has its drawbacks.

So does having a largely-geriatric consumer base

Did you try Certi-Fit?

At least a non-enthusiast geriatric consumer base. There are tons of parts for 32 Fords and 55-57 Chevies

Nope, never heard of ‘em

What car? After owning 6 cars with awful aftermarket support I finally have the TL which is very solid. Tons of J motor parts, exceptionally good coilovers for $550, affordable catback exhaust systems, and of course the assortment of cosmetic goodies.

1994 Cadillac Eldorado

And of course Eldorado isn’t listed in their catalog

Well shit. They cater to cheap body repair places in the hood, and from what I remember always had goofy cars listed... what year is it?

Me too, when I had my Sonic it had little aftermarket. Then I got rid of it, & the aftermarket blew up for it. The Juke aftermarket is also limited.

1994 ETC. The grille and front bumper are the worst offenders

Yeah that could be a little tough. I searched for coilovers for it just for fun aaand nothing.

Strutmasters has a full passive kit (with bypasses for the active controllers) for $550
![]() 08/18/2017 at 11:41 |

Well thats not bad. At that age if anything went wrong with the active suspension id totally go passive.

My thoughts as well. Along with the half-assedly bypassed suspension it already has; I figure I might as well just hit all four corners with fresh bits. That’s not a bad price either for an all-inclusive kit. Thirdly I can ditch the compressor and associated components so I can say it’s tuned by Lotus lol

Looks like Keystone doesn’t even make them.... guess you’ll have to find forum part-outs, junkyards, craigslist, etc.

Yup. Sucks nuts.
Though there’s a ‘99 with blown head gaskets on the local for $800. Can’t use its suspension but I could certainly yank a TON of parts off of it
But then I have another shell taking up our precious driveway real-estate and the wife has already voiced her displeasure in that notion
But fresher interior, nicer bumpers, a new grille and OEM wheels
But she may withhold if I purchase
On the other hand, parts
